Finally light on Yoga Astrology

Vedic astrology: the ancient science of light that reveals your karma in the movement of the 9 heavenly bodies

Did you know that Yoga has its own Astrology? Well yes, it is a millennia-old astrological system that, unlike "Western" astrology, has always been considered a noble and incredibly accurate traditional science. I explain it all in this article.

Jyotiṣa: The ancient astrology of Yoga, meditation and Ayurveda.

Vedic Astrology is a traditional science of India that has been handed down for millennia.

Traditionally, Vedic Astrology is called. Jyotiṣa.

Jyotiṣa is a Sanskrit word that has the following meanings:

Vedic Astrology-that is, coming from the Vedas-is the Astrology of Yoga.

The Vedas are the literature of ancient India.

They are written in Sanskrit language, considered the mother of all our Indo-European languages.

The Vedas are the Mother literature:

👉 Of Yoga,

👉 Of Ayurveda (Indian medicine),

👉 Of Vastu (feng-shui type energy architecture)

👉 Of meditation and mantras

👉 and precisely of Vedic Astrology

Did you know that the oral tradition of Vedic chants has been declared an intangible heritage of humanity by UNESCO since 2008?

Veda comes from the Sanskrit root √vid- (lat. Video).

It means: vision, development of realized knowledge.

Its purpose is to broaden the vision...

Open the eyes (veda-cakshur).

The purpose of the Vedas is to broaden the vision...

...NOT to create a dogmatic or sectarian view of reality.

The same is therefore true of Vedic Astrology; it is made to expand:

⭐ your knowledge,

⭐ your perception of you

⭐ your worldview.

The Vedas constitute an immense body of literature, passed down orally from time without beginning.

(According to tradition, the Vedas originated with the Big Bang).

If you think about it, it is true:

Knowledge is present since there are objects (to be known) and since there are people (who can know).

Tradition holds that these texts were put in writing more than 5,000 years ago...

...but that they have been handed down for tens of thousands of years.

Vedic Astrology is part of this very ancient culture that has come virtually intact to the present day.

(If you want to go straight to practice, I explain the 3 pillars of Vedic astrology in a free mini-guide)

The "cradle of civilization" and our eastern cultural origins

We have studied in history books that our origins are in the Middle East.

But are we sure?

In fact. our true roots push (and for many it is a "nuisance") much further east.

Further east than Mesopotamia?

Yes, but...

...roots that are too eastern are inconvenient because they decentralize Europe from its centuries-old "Eurocentrism."

Vice that has made us call for hundreds of years "History" only the history of Europe and...

"Philosophy" only the history of European philosophy!

For hundreds of years we have almost erased the history and philosophy of the East from our general culture.

Which is no small thing when you think about it....

Who among you does not remember the first civilization we studied in a history book in elementary school?

(and then middle school, and then high school, and maybe college...)

Yes, that's right, the one between the Tigris and the Euphrates. 😊

Eligible because it is still in the limits of the Mediterranean.

Oh, the Mediterranean...the "cradle of civilization"!

But are we sure?

However few pages for Mesopotamia and the Babylonians.

A few more pages for the Egyptians.

Then again to turn to the Greeks and Romans, definitely closer.

Not to mention uncomfortable Jewish religious roots....

...always Middle Eastern, which then fortunately gave Christianity a European "upgrade" in religion.

Yes okay, now I'm exaggerating.

But if you think about it, there are subtle truths in my words:

We have forgotten our eastern origins.

In other words: India's history and philosophy are YOUR culture at least as much as Socrates and Plato are.

I have to tell you even though it is inconvenient:

The civilization that resided in the Indian sub-continent millennia ago is the mother of our ancient civilizations, it is our cultural root.

Sanskrit (or Vedic), the language of the texts of this culture, is considered to be the mother of our Indo-European languages

Vedic Astrology is part of these forgotten roots of yours.

And the time has come to know this lost root of yours.

Jyotiṣa and "Western" Astrology!

Unfortunately, Vedic Astrology is little known and is often confused with the astrology we are used to in the West.

Nothing could be more wrong...

Although "Western" Astrology and Vedic Astrology are "distant sisters," they have a completely different history.

Imagine twin brothers separated at birth.

The first brother lives a life in his land, with his parents, within his culture.

It is born in a natural environment and develops healthy and strong.

This is the context in which Vedic Astrology was born and developed.

L'other brother Is abandoned, taken abroad, to a foreign and hostile land.

He lives a difficult life full of hardship.

He becomes a fugitive, has to hide, has to change his form and identity.

On his way he encounters bad acquaintances...

(magic, superstition and superstition)

This is the difficult history of "Western" astrology.

I assure you that this is no small difference.

Vedic Astrology was born and raised in its own context and has maintained close relations with the tradition.

(Yoga, Veda, Ayurveda, meditation, and so on).

Because let's be frank.

While (in the East) Vedic astrology was and still is considered a noble traditional science studied by people of great culture;

Here (in the West) "Western" astrology is something for those who are (to be polite anyway ) at least a little "strange."

In an effort to bring Vedic Astrology to the West. we have to break down so many prejudices

Unfortunately, this is true of everything.

For example, think of a good family...

Imagine that a family member takes a "bad path" ...

...becomes addicted to drugs, vandalizes, steals or even kills.

This person compromises not only his life, but the life of the whole family--even if the family is innocent.

The reputation of the entire family will be compromised.

We need to avoid this.

We don't have to throw out Vedic Astrology with astrology.

How not to throw a baby out with the bathwater.

It is not we understand it in the West!

"Western" Astrology began its journey starting in India via the Babylonians.

Then it went to Greece and later was taken up by the Arabs, again adopted by the Hellenes and again Arabs and again Greeks.

"Western" Astrology then faced major challenges:

❌ Middle Ages,

❌ Of the inquisition,

❌ of the Enlightenment

❌ Of positivism.

Astrology in the West came to us from India, yes, but filtered, modified, censored, distorted, fragmented, mutilated, mixed with medieval superstition and so on.

The more time has passed, the more the "twins" have become. completely different people!

How much is left in "Western" astrology of the mother science narrated by the Vedas, humanity's oldest literature?

Very little...

As you will realize from my work, the tradition of Indian astrology is very different.

(I recommend you download the Free mini-guide to get an idea of the potential of Vedic Astrology).

Here I am not just talking about the way this has been handed down and has retained its traditional scientificity...

but also of the astrological techniques and the precision with which it arrives at concrete results.

As I told you Vedic Astrology had a different story.

Indeed remained intact

It was transmitted by the same method by which the Vedic texts have come down to us in the present day.

Have you ever wondered why we know very little about Babylonian civilization?

Little of the Egyptians?

Mayan gods?

(Here my Sardinian origins come out).

Of the nuragic civilization?

Of the Phoenicians?

And so on?

All great civilizations with centuries of history!

All we know are myriad theories that, often, have very little that is certain.

Yet they were NOT civilizations older than the Vedic civilization....

By these great civilizations who dominated vast lands and were certainly holders of great culture, we know little or nothing.

While of the Vedic civilization we have an almost intact cultural heritage.

The difference lies in the method of knowledge transmission Which was used in ancient India.

So I am not talking about historiography (dating was not the forte of the ancient Indians), but about the tradition itself, its essential aspects of which astrology was an important part.

Customs and traditions in ancient India

In India, astrology has never been censored; it has never been considered heterodox.

It never felt the need to become hermetic to protect itself from certain death, as was the case with Western astrology.

He has always been part of the customs and traditions both of the aristocracy and the people in general.

She was considered an indispensable factor to measure the "quality of time" (and not just the quantity measured by clocks) and thus exploit the fact that different times produce different results And that time has in it the description of its quality.

You have probably already heard of yoga and its benefits.

Yoga is also a millennia-old science that has been handed down since time immemorial.

The written origins of Yoga are codified in Sanskrit texts such as the Bhagavad-gītā and Patañjali's Yoga-sūtra.

Similarly, Vedic Astrology has very ancient texts that canonize its rules and practices.

We find the presence of Vedic Astrology as early as the Ṛg Veda for choosing the right times to take important actions for the maintenance of life, state and cosmos.

In the Purāṇa (another type of Indo-Vedic literature) we see Astrology "in action" used by kings to make important political decisions, or applied to foresee a child's potential in order to steer him or her in the right direction.

In fact, in ancient times one of the basic initiatory rites that every Indian child had to go through after birth was the Nāmakaraṇa (let. naming) ceremony.

Our name is a mantra we will hear all our lives because others will call us that when they need us.

The Vedic Astrologer calculated this name based on the benefit this sound would have on karma in the native, for the purpose of enhancing his talents and reducing his blockages.

Astrology has always been a means of counseling, and the most important modern application is to direct you to know yourself better for the purpose of effectively using the hidden possibilities and latent forces in your life.

Vedic Astrology in just 11 minutes!

Vedic Astrology is the ancient Astrology of Yoga and thus boasts a tradition dating back thousands of years.

In the ancient Vedas it was considered a science that studied (along with Astronomy) the quantitative and qualitative aspect of time.

The Vedic Christmas Card is the photograph of your Karma on which the Planets "imprint" your destiny at the moment of your birth, that is, when you come out of the "dark room" of your mother's womb.

An incredible metaphor when you think about it.

Before we are born, our mind is like a completely neutral roll of film.

Thereafter, the Planets "imprint" in our natal chart their karmic information that will determine our fate in this lifetime.
