If you have any doubts about having said the word "karma" out of turn....

karma is not a cheap concept. now you will finally know what it means to have "bad karma"!

Everyone has the word Karma in their mouth ... but are you sure everyone really knows what it means? Hmm ... no! Many people don't know, or they have very superficial notions. In this article you will finally find the answers you are looking for.

The Art of Action and the Law of Karma

Have you ever said the word "karma" out of turn?

More and more people are doing yoga and becoming interested in Eastern disciplines...

There are more and more people who study Sanskrit and look forward to correcting your accent when you say the words asana, mandala, nirvana, etc., etc.

By now we can no longer afford to use Indian words haphazardly....

Don't you think so?

The reality is that even though the word Karma has now entered in the vocabulary Italian...

Its true meaning is still obscure to most...

Many people use "Karma" in researched phrases, in holistic contexts or, in jest, by saying:

This is your karma!

You can see that you deserve it.

It is generally used as an "exotic" synonym for misfortune, misfortune, woe, adversity, mishap, ill fortune, jinx, misfortune, calamity, calamity, misfortune...

...But nothing could be more wrong!

When you know really something, you are able to explain it in a simple way.

Would you know how to explain Karma to your dear (great)grandmother who lives in a town of 100 where there has never been electricity and internet connection?

(Maybe she would be closer than we are to understanding its true meaning...)

In this article I will explain what "karma" is...

In fact you are in the right place because theVedic Astrology is really traditional Eastern science that studies and measures your Karma.

Yes.karma can also be "measured" From your Vedic Astrological Chart.

But before we jump into the topic...

Do you know how I got the idea to create this article?

While standing in line at the supermarket (even Vedic astrologers go shopping ) I noticed a scene that made me realize...

...that I absolutely had to write - as soon as possible - an article to explain the Law of Karma.

And here we are, now I will explain the subtleties of this philosophy.

Let's start right away... In this article I will explain. the Art of Action.

Are you ready?

Okay, I got it.

I guess before I go any further I want to know what happened at the supermarket.

All right, let's start...

Karma at the supermarket is not cheap....

It was a Friday night, around 7:00 pm. Supermarkets close around 7:30 p.m., and people leave work at 6:00 p.m./6:30 p.m.

The supermarket was full and the lines at the checkout were as long as caravans in an exodus.

Astrologically I had chosen the wrong Muhurta (the time to start something), but I was "forced" like other people to be there at that time.

Sometimes we have the power to choose when to do something.

With knowledge of Astrology, this choice can make a difference in the success of your actions.

Other times we are "forced" to do something in a given time, we have little room for choice.

This was one of them.

In these cases the only variable we have to change our fate is the attitude we decide to have.

Yes, you got it right.

You can decide what attitude to have in your life!

You can change your attitude only if you really know yourself.

You need to know the dynamics that are blocking and self-boycotting you (at least until you become aware of them) in order to change your perspective.

For this, as I will explain shortly, it is essential to know the Planet of Destiny:

That heavenly body that has been moving the finer threads of your life since your birth.

So I was standing in line with my basket of vegetables and grains (Vedic astrologers are typically vegetarians).

I learned (from Yoga philosophy) that chance does not exist and, If you can accept the situation and you relax, you can learn something even standing in the supermarket line.

Standing in line is stressful.

A lady in front of me was dragging her carts as she puffed.

She was visibly upset.

The line proceeded slowly and the cashier did her best.

You could hear in the distance the sound of the pieces being tapped on the cash register, like a cadenced telegraph.

The lady in front of me began to whisper.

I could barely hear.

He was babbling that the cashier was slow, that they could put someone faster, they could open more tills, and so on.

Gradually his voice began to rise.

Now it had become a monologue, and after a while she began to look around for someone to back her up.

All his attention was absorbed in the "misfortune" he was experiencing. Perhaps he thought it was an injustice.

He probably had plans for that evening and the slow pace of the line was undermining his schedule.

If we do not abandon ourselves to events by learning to accept them we will often feel frustrated in life.

Sometimes it takes very little to send us into a tailspin and put us in great difficulty.

This was the case with the lady.

But it is also what happens to us when we do not find our centering....

A family in front of her, who was growing impatient with the line, began conversing with the lady.

They could have changed the subject and talked about something uplifting, but attention returned to discomfort.

The mind works like this...

The mind is like a child.

If you don't educate it (with meditation) it keeps coming back to the same spot.

As in the saying, "the tongue beats where the tooth hurts".

So the mind recursively goes back to thinking about anything that hurts us, produces anxiety or fear.

Between comments toward the cashier, management advice, to comments about the high cost of some foods...

The two ladies said sentences like:

[...] It is our bad karma to find us here [...]

[...] What can I do about it? [...] It's my karma [...]

In that interview the word Karma came up several times, from totally unsuspected people.

I couldn't believe it!

Because of my Oriental studies, I have known the word Karma for almost 15 years, but I had never heard it at the ... supermarket!

Yet it is so: so many people today use the word Karma, but they do not know what it really is.

In fact, the word karma is NOT synonymous with fate or, even worse, luck.

The Law of Karma is a more subtle and refined principle.

That is why I decided to write this article.

The law of Karma is something more complex, NOT something cheap!

In any case, the line ended and we all returned home safely.

One thing is certain: The best remedy for "bad karma" is the right attitude.

Both the woman and I were in the same row. She was suffering and I was learning.

It's just a matter of how you live the situation, don't you think?

Don't get me wrong, I by no means feel better than you, in fact I am grateful for this opportunity.

I feel grateful toward my teachers and lucky to have received this knowledge, the same knowledge I want to share with you today.

The curious etymology of the word Karma

As you surely know, Karma Is a Sanskrit word.

The Sanskrit is the very ancient ancestor language of all our Indo-European languages.

Sanskrit literature is a heritage of humanity, as is Vedic chanting.

Sanskrit is the technical language of Vedic Astrology, which is called Jyotiṣa in its mother tongue.

Karma comes from the verbal root √kṛ meaning to make, cause, create an effect, process, complete, finish an action, bring to completion, elaborate and build.

Just from the etymology alone you can see how in the semantic field of the root of Karma we are NOT talking about destiny.

√kṛ Predominantly means the act of acting.

Actually we should be more specific:

Karma is the action that produces result.

The word Karma means action, acting, the occupation, but also any act that is moved by duty.

In each case the action must produce a result.

The action is closely related to the reaction, the result that follows.

Action and reaction are a pair, one and the same entity.

They are generally two sides of the same coin.

There can be no action without reaction, just as there is no reaction that is not generated by an action.

This is true on the plane in which we are living.

The principle of the Law of Karma that you already know but don't know you know...

So far I haven't told you anything extremely esoteric 😁

Think about it.

In fact we find the same concept in Physics:

"The third law of dynamics, or the principle of action and reaction, states that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction."

This is karma.

There is a physical and subtle law that connects action with a reaction.

We don't decide this law; this law exists like the force of gravity.

We can simply be aware of it or ignore it.

But in each case this law acts.

What then is the use of knowing her?

If you know the gravitational law you can "manage" it by creating situations that are in harmony with this law and avoiding situations that go against this law.

For example, if you know the law of gravity you will avoid jumping off the balcony because you know you will be pushed toward the ground.

As you see, the concept of Karma is not tied to a fatalistic fate, but is both the action and the result of our actions.

The quality of this outcome depends, as we shall see in a moment, on the quality of our actions.

In other words, we rejoice or suffer depending on whether or not we are in harmony with the laws of the universe.

Action creates your destiny ... you create your action ... action creates you ...

So it is you who create your own destiny.

How?

By your actions.

This means that your ability to change your future depends on your actions.

Not only by what you do, but also by how you do it and your intention in doing it.

In other words, to be successful in life you need to know the Art of Action.

Knowing a law does not change the law, but it does change how you "use" that law.

Generally you can't avoid the action being connected to the reaction, except with Action Yoga (I'll tell you about that later).

The first step then is to understand the nature of the laws underlying the universe.

Let me explain further.

In our discussion there are 2 variables at play:

⭐ how you act

⭐ what happens to you.

The "how you act" is your free will.

To be precise, "how you act" is also related by your past experiences, but let's neglect this element for now.

The "what happens to you" is fate, which is everything that happens in your life outside your control.

We can call it the "scenario" In which you act.

For example, you were born with a male/female body.

You were born with a certain nationality.

You are born to certain parents, in a certain social condition.

You have innate talents and flaws.

All this is your "scenario" in which in this life you can act to produce other reactions.

You did NOT consciously decide this scenario.

(Although some currents new age propose this idea.)

I guess you've noticed....

Think about it?

Is your life perfect?

Hmm ... I, too, honestly would have changed some of what happens in my life 😉…

Okay, that you did not consciously choose your karma does not mean that the responsibility is not yours.

In fact.

This scenario is NOT a destiny written by someone, but is the product of your past actions.

Some of these that come from other lives, especially situations that you carry with you from birth.

These two variables ("how you act" and "what happens to you") are closely related to each other.

That is, if you act one way something will happen to you.

If you act any other way, something else will happen to you.

Very simple, isn't it?

There are people (and I was like that too) who claim to achieve something new while doing the exact same actions.

Amazing, isn't it?

But it happens every day.

Thomas Jefferson wisely said:

"If you want something you've never had, you have to do something you've never done."

If you want to change your destiny, change the way you act.

Simple, right?

👉 Action creates your destiny.

👉 You create the action.

👉 Action creates you.

You one of the key elements in play to change your destiny.

But you are not the only element.

You can decide what to do, but (very often) you cannot decide what happens to you.

Do you agree?

If you study an exam diligently, you will not necessarily get full marks.

Because getting full marks depends on many factors.

(Your degree of stress, the examiner's predisposition, and so on...).

The same goes for a job interview, a new project, a commission.

It applies to a hot date, a new contract, an important purchase, or a sale.

Whether it is work, relationships or any activity, you have the power to act, but you have less power over the reaction of your action.

Here, the Philosophy of Karma is the study of how Action and Reaction are connected to each other.

It is the search for answers to the following questions:

  • How can I take actions that produce good results?
  • How can I avoid actions that produce bad results?
  • Can I create my own future?
  • Is everything already written or do I have full free will?
To answer these questions personally and specifically for your situation, you absolutely must know your Planet of Destiny.

To this end, I have created a free mini-guide for you.

Where is karma stored?

Vedic Astrology practically reveals this action/reaction connection:

What happens to you today Is the fruit of your past actions that are meticulously "saved" in the Planets.

Bad news:

Our actions are recorded, even if we do them secretly....😅🤫🤭

The Planets are nothing but "capacitors" and "catalysts" of Karma.

As if they were real database, memories or records.

Everything we do is stored in one of the 9 Graha (celestial bodies/planets) and categorized by type.

For example:

❌ Violent, competitive and anger-driven actions are stored in the Mars log.

❌ Actions of compassion, help, and support are recorded in the Moon database.

❌ All your studies and spirituality is catalyzed in the log of Jupiter.

❌ The same applies to the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu.

Thus each Graha has its own peculiar register where it notes actions and divides them by type.

So there are 9 different registers that connect our actions with the particular reaction we are to experience.

The graha (planet or celestial body) not only stores our actions.

It emits an energy whose influence on us will force us (as a reaction) to act in a certain way or have certain experiences.

For example:

Mars will give us conflicting situations in response to our actions of the same nature.

Thus Mars energy will affect our mind by coloring it red: we will be more irritable and prone to quarrels.

This influence will attract other quarrelsome people or direct us to competitive environments where we will have to "suffer" our reaction.

In this way the planetary energies move the world by returning the reaction to each action.

We can see the relationship between us and the Planets. like a triangle:

🔺 we act (perform an action),

🔺 action is stored on the Planets,

🔺 the Planets respond (through their energy) to this action

🔺 we get the reaction

And the triangle closes.

So we we are forced to experience the reaction.

But the 9 databases are not at the same level, there is one more important...

Indeed the 80% of your Karma is encoded in your Planet of Destiny, a particular planet (different for everyone) that is calculated directly from your Christmas Card.

That is, among the 9 databases, one in particular is the "mother registry," the brain that manages the other databases as well.

If your Planet of Destiny Is kindly disposed toward you ...

...The other planets will also be kinder in bestowing the karmic reaction to your actions.

On the contrary if you are not in harmony with your Planet of Destiny, this will make your life more complicated....

3 types of action and 3 types of reaction

Now let me explain a very simple principle.

In the Yoga literature we find that the action can be of 3 types:

⛔ Vikarma: negative action in disharmony with the universe.

These actions produce a negative reaction that turns into pain and suffering.

Not only does vikarma drive habit-forming or addictions that block future freedom.

Any kind of suffering, difficulties, obstacles, confusion, emotional and emotional instability that we experience in this life...

...Is the product of vikarma actions.

You may not remember when and how they were accomplished, and sometimes the cause may be in other lives.

This is especially true for difficult birth conditions:

❌ situations of poverty,

❌ chronic diseases,

❌ disability,

❌ look bad,

❌ have intellectual difficulties

❌ social difficulties

Sometimes the product of vikarma is so strong that this life is strongly blocked.

Vedic astrology (particularly the Planet of Destiny) is of great help in understanding what your past vikarma is.

If you know your vikarma, you can immediately run for cover.

Just avoid certain actions (that you may not even be aware of doing) that bring you into disharmony with the universe And so...

...produce negative reactions that sooner or later will manifest in your life.

The most important action you must avoid at all costs is revealed by your Planet of Destiny.

That is why it is such an important aspect.

✅ Sakarma: positive actions in harmony with the universe.

These actions produce a positive result that manifests itself in joys and resources that make life easier and lighter.

✅ have a good birth

✅ a good look

✅ being born into a rich family

✅ easily have resources

✅ Be blessed with lasting relationships

✅ have great intelligence

represent the good karma.

The Law of Karma is clear:

If you act well you will inevitably get a good result.

Especially if you are in harmony with the king of your birth chart: the Planet of Destiny.

In the Mahābhārata we find this famous quotation:

"If the Dharma (cosmic order) is protected, this protects you; if the Dharma is destroyed, this destroys you."

Now so far it is simple...

But there is a third kind of karma.

This may be a new concept for you if you have not already come into contact with Eastern disciplines.

Discovering the concept of akarma opened my mind to new horizons.

This concept reveals the precision of the philosophy behind the word Karma.

But before I tell you about this esoteric aspect (with akarma we go beyond karma!) I want to keep you grounded and on a practical level.

In fact, I created a path based on the ancient traditional science of Vedic Astrology in which I talk to you...

...of the 3 most important aspects of Vedic Astrology You should definitely know about.

In particular I talk to you about the Planet of Destiny, the most important and essential aspect.

Action without Reaction: possible?

Now you can ask yourself:

"...but what is the point of specifying the connection between action and outcome?"

Is there a type of action that does not produce a result?"

The answer is yes!

Now we really get into esotericism. 😁

We are almost crossing the threshold of the phenomenal. 😇

Here the third type of action takes over.

♻ Akarma ("a" privative): actions that do not produce reactions.

Amazing isn't it?

It is a kind of "nuclear split" where two elements (Action and Reaction) that would otherwise be united and indivisible are divided.

This is done through a "special" type of action.

This is typical of Vedic thought.

In fact, the very definition of the root √kṛ (indicating the Action/Reaction binomial) hints at the fact that these two concepts can become independent.

May they split.

So it is not mandatory that an action produces a reaction?

No, it is not.

Yoga philosophy, on which Vedic Astrology is based, explains that. it is possible to act without producing reactions.

But such actions must be on a higher plane of consciousness.

They must be ego-motivated actions.

Actions moved by Love and compassion.

Such action is called "Yoga."

Yoga action (or akarma) is a special action, done with a certain attitude, so as to break the (otherwise obligatory) link between action and reaction.

What binds action to action is the glue of attachment to the outcome.

That is, we are compelled to receive a reaction because of the selfish motivation to act in order to gain personal benefit or pleasure.

Yoga action must be unmotivated, moved by love, in full harmony with the divine plan and the cosmic order.

In other words, it is an action done in a spirit of service.

This kind of action is explained in detail in Yoga's most important text: the Bhagavad Gita.

For now, know that there is the concept of akarma and you can possibly read this reference text to find out more.

One thing I can tell you is that there are 4 forms of traditional Yoga actions.

Each of these 4 focuses attention on different techniques, but the principle is the same: Separate action from reaction.

What is the point of all this?

Why do I want to eliminate the reaction?

Why learn to do Yoga actions?

Good question!

You may think that it is enough to act well and avoid negative actions.

Good deeds bring good karma, prosperity, success, recognition and riches.

This is very true, but there are 3 big problems In this approach.

3 problems of the action involved

Affected action produces fruits and binds the person to "taste" those fruits.

Sometimes they are bitter fruits, sometimes sweet, sometimes salty.

🚫 The negative action is the first problem Of the action involved.

Obviously vikarma (negative action) is a problem because it generates suffering.

So in the pursuit of pleasure (every being seeks pleasure) we can be "tempted" to act selfishly and in a way that is harmful to ourselves and others.

🚫 The second problem of the action involved is that good karma also gives you great responsibility.

Sakarma, positive action, generates a positive reaction.

Good deeds, ethical actions, actions in harmony with the universe create a rosy future for you, full of prosperity, beautiful relationships and accomplishments.

What's the problem then?

There is not just one problem; there are two others.

🏆 If you are born into a rich family or in life you get power, this is a great setting to live in.

🏆 If you look good and charming you can have more relationships.

🏆 If you get fame and prestige many people will like you.

🏆 If you are smart you will have more job opportunities.

But there is a pitfall, the pitfall of ego.

If you possess fame, wealth, beauty, intelligence, knowledge, you can mount your head And start misusing your resources by producing vikarma again!

If you produce vikarma the beautiful and prosperous scenario will change over time taking on the blackest hues.

Just as if you produce sakarma, gradually your scenery will become brighter and brighter.

So If the scenario is good, but you misuse what you have, this will lead you to make your situation much worse.

The more popular you are, the more influential you are and the more resources you have; and the more responsibility you have because you can do greater damage.

The greatest criminals in the world are neither poor nor stupid, think about it!

They had good karma, but they misused it.

Think of the politicians and great heads of state throughout history who have created major problems for the whole world: they had incredible resources...

...But they used them to feed their own egos and selfish ends.

Think super famous rock stars, think Hollywood stars.

Not everyone uses their good karma well; some (alas, many) end up badly: drugs, addictions, disordered relationships...

💔 So the karmic blessings can turn into curses if not used with care.

💖 Of course, the reverse is true: "curses" can turn into masked blessings!

Experiencing difficult situations can bring you closer to knowing yourself, overcoming your limitations and stepping out of your comfort zones.

The most direct way to succeed in turning every difficulty into a blessing inevitably comes from knowing your Planet of Destiny.

Understanding this Planet is the key to opening the secret doors of your Karma and accessing the "shortcuts" that get you to your destination faster.

Through the Planet of Destiny you can:

🍀 "activate" your positive Karma

🎯 "turn off" your negative karma.

How?

Simple.

There is a specific lesson (decided by your Planet of Destiny) that you have to learn during the duration of this life.

The sooner you do it, the better...

And when that happens your Karma becomes much lighter.

When Karma is light you live life more carefree.

...and things finally happen when they are supposed to happen....

Metempsychosis, action and liberation

🚫 The third problem Of the action involved is this:

Whether you do good deeds (sakarma) or bad deeds (vikarma)...

...these will FORCE you to receive the fruit of actions, that is, the reaction.

🔺 I 9 Planets They will store the information of your actions and send their energy back to you.

Remember I told you that actions and reactions are inseparable, unless you perform a Yoga Action (akarma).

So if you make aaction involved You will be forced to reap the benefits.

This means that when this short life ends, you will still have to take another body and a new Astrological chart (and a new Planet of Destiny ) to receive the feedback you deserve.

Here we enter the meanderings of the theme of metempsychosis: transmigration Of the breath of life from body to body.

A basic concept in Yoga philosophy and Eastern philosophies in general.

Obviously in theVedic Astrology we cannot avoid addressing this issue as we study your Christmas Card and the Planet of Destiny.

What is your Christmas card?

The chart of the position of the Planets at the instant of your birth.

From this Christmas Card we can read all the karma that will manifest in this life.

As I told you. the 80% of your Karma Is undisputedly decided by your Planet of Destiny, this represents the root from the actions You performed in past lives.

Where can this karma come from if we are just born and immediately forced to "wear" a Christmas Card and be controlled by the Planet of Destiny?

Now you know that the "scenario" in which you live in this life is the product of actions performed in other lives both vikarma and sakarma.

So the actions you take in this life are creating future lives That you will be forced to live.

This wheel of time is endless.

In Sanskrit it is called saṃsāra.

In this circle we act and are forced to reap each and every fruit of our actions.

Just for break this chain Endless (of births and rebirths) Yoga Action (akarma) exists.

Clearly, the purpose of stopping this cycle is related to another concept:

Mokṣa, the liberation.

"Liberation" means returning to your original and natural state, beyond suffering and illusions.

The principle of yoga is. you are already perfect.

But the action (and reaction) created a karmic envelope around you, covering your perfection and light.

The root of this envelope is precisely established by your Planet of Destiny that you need to get to know like the back of your hand if you want to rediscover your full potential.

When karma fades away your true self can return to its pure state of eternity, knowledge and bliss.

Yoga action is the process of "eliminating" karmic reactions and learning to act selflessly.

Yoga action makes you "love in action," because it makes you act moved by feeling above the dictates of ego and mind.

Those who can act without reaction have learned the true Art of Action: the action that liberates.

See you soon,

Prema
