Birthday
Since childhood I have been taught by the society in which I live - consciously or unconsciously - that the birthday was the party where everyone had to praise me and put me at the center of their attention: giving me gifts, writing me letters, posting on my FB wall, writing me WhatsApps full of emoticon, making me a three-tiered cake, throwing me a surprise party (sometimes pretending to forget my birthday) and, at the height of the show, singing to me in a (often off-key) chorus, "Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you!"
But this 'ceremony,' instead of making the coming year better for me, made me, as early as the next day, even more frustrated: I would no longer be the center of attention, the birthday was over. End of theego-trip.
Typically, with this dynamic we experience, in a small way, the failing career of a rockstar who immediately becomes super famous, touches the pinnacle of success, only to be forgotten by the public and outclassed by other rockstar. Depression, drugs, frustration, wait for those who have been successful and then lose it. For one day a year we are known as rockstar and for the remaining days we are ordinary people. Clearly, celebrating a birthday does not have to, necessarily, be so tragic! But there is a deeper and more constructive way to experience it. Changing perspective often changes the quality of life.
Birthday as Rebirth
We were born in a given day and to a given time. Not by chance. This fateful moment sets the guidelines in which our Karma will develop for the remaining time that we travel, in the body we are wearing, on this planet.
This particular day, with similar characteristics, is repeated every year. It is our real birthday. Every year is like being born again. It is a day of strong connection between us and the Creator, who allowed our birth through our parents, who were his agents. It is a sacred day when we can offer our gratitude for the fact that we are here, alive and well, for the purpose of having all the experiences we need to grow and progress. Without a physical body, this would not be possible. Just ask the ghosts.
Birthday is also the day when the Creator remembers us and sends us His blessings. If on this day we connect to the frequency of gratitude-through meditation, the mantra or prayer-we will receive powerful blessings and strong energy that we can use throughout the coming year.
Birthday as Opportunity
Oh yes, turning one's birthday into an opportunity to connect with one's spiritual nature functions like a cell phone charger: recharge our batteries throughout the year. No more rockstar depressed.
Birthday is not the time when we have to put ourselves at the center, only to suffer when we lose the attention of others. Birthday Is the time when we must put the Center at the center.
But there is another very interesting factor: we can draw the Astrological Chart of our birthday and analyze in detail the year ahead. It is an opportunity to make plans, to understand what energies to expect from the year and to take any precautions.
Tithi-praveśa
This is called Yearly Horoscope o Tithi-praveśa. This type of paper Is even more specific than the Christmas Card, because it is a magnifying glass for one year only (birthday to birthday). Clearly, both charts are analyzed together because the former offers wide-ranging indications, while the latter focuses on the specific year.
Can we do this reading annually or can it be a nice idea for a 'evolutionary birthday gift' we can do to one of our relatives or friends. Ideally, one should do the Annual Horoscope before one's birthday to get in tune with the energies of the coming year right away.
Here, the article would have ended here if ... by birthday I meant the commemoration of one's calendar day of birth.
Vedic Vs Birthday
For example, I was born on May 11, and since I was a child-before I learned about Vedic Astrology-I used to celebrate my birthday every May 11. This is not the day I refer to in the article.
The solar calendar is unable to tell us the day that contains the 'karmic' information of our birth.
The day we are interested in must be related to the energy of the Creator, and this has manifested for us through our parents. The Sun is related to the father and as we well know is not the only character involved in the creation of our body. To determine the right day of the birthday, it is also necessary to take into consideration the moon, the mother.
In Vedic culture and derived astrology, the soli-lunar calendar, that is, based on the position of both the Sun and the Moon.
To be able to charge batteries, receive blessings throughout the year, and to be able to observe one's Annual Horoscope, it is necessary to know one's birthday according to the soli-lunar calendar. This day is called Tithi-praveśa, which can be before or after the solar day of our birth and only rarely matches.
Conditions
Praveśa means 'return'. Tithi is the lunar day created by the angle between the Sun and the Moon and indicates the relationship between our father and mother that led to our conception. In this regard, each of us should know our own Tithi and what this implies, because the type of relationship between our parents has a strong impact on the quality of our relationships with others.
For the Tithi-praveśa two conditions must be met: a) the birthday Sun must be in the same sign as the natal Sun; b) the Tithi of the birthday must be the same as the lunar day of birth. Having found the time when these conditions occur, we can draw the astrological chart that will give us the information about the year ahead.
So Tithi-praveśa indicates the time of the year when the same conditions of our creation, of our birth, occur.
Being more aware of the energies, which subtly move around us, allows us to live better and more in harmony with our surroundings. Let us not miss the wonderful opportunity, which we have every year, to be able to fill ourselves with positive energy. Let us not miss the opportunity to be reborn every Tithi-praveśa.
