I wanted to break a spear in favor of eclipses.

Eclipses are very intense moments and carry with them the energy of Rāhu and of Ketu, the lunar nodes that cause birth in this world, desire and rebirth. They bind us to this world, or set us free. They are extremes. Eclipses symbolically “eat” the light of the Sun and Moon. The Sun and Moon are the two luminaries and cause the light of day and night. We can understand that on a symbolic level, that which darkens, which brings darkness, is not always welcome. But at the same time, eclipses represent those moments of darkness in our lives, when we hit rock bottom, but also brought then light. They are the crises that lead to transformation. Because the darkness of the eclipse only momentarily blocks the light of the Sun and Moon, which sooner or later will shine again.

A lot of bad things are said about the eclipse, especially in reference to Vedic astrology. It is confusion, it is a time where darkness seems to win. At the same time, the eclipse always has a hidden blessing. It becomes an energetic amplifier of transformation and socio-political changes. With eclipses change governments, change the mentality of the people, occur energetic changes in the collective unconscious. It is not just an astronomical phenomenon: it is a turning point in time, a twist of fate Making itself visible.

Rāhu and Ketu are not material planets, but karmic forces. These are the points where the Sun and Moon are “intercepted,” and this intercepting of light is symbolically most powerful. When the light is covered, all that is hidden emerges. Personal shadows, unconscious desires, collective ambitions, fears, illusions, attachments. But precisely because the energy is so concentrated and so extreme, it also becomes one of the most powerful moments To consciously intervene in our destiny.

Not only that. The eclipses amplify prayers. Specifically, there are material eclipses or spiritual eclipses; internal eclipses or external eclipses. Each eclipse has its own energy that we Vedic astrologers learn to interpret, but also to feel. Academy trainees learn about eclipses as early as their freshman year, not just as technical events, but as time gaps where karma accelerates.

Even the mantras and meditative practices Are definitely amplified. Tradition states that every mantra is worth 1000 times more. For those who do a specific sādhana (practice) of a particular mantra and have to recite it for a certain number of times, this information about eclipses becomes most powerful and most important. During an eclipse all energy is multiplied. Eclipse is a karmic shortcut. Within the eclipse our effort is greatly enhanced.

Let's take an example. This means that if a particular mantra, according to the mantra-śāstra, the science of mantras, was to be recited 1 million times To give perfection, called mantra siddhi, this would require 1 million divided 108 times, that is, the grains of an Indian rosary called japa mālā, which gives us about 9260 rounds of japa. If it takes 3 to 5 minutes to recite a mālā of 108 repetitions of the mantra, it would take 27780 to 46300 minutes, which corresponds to about 463 to 772 hours. A very dutiful practitioner, employing two hours a day for mantric meditation, would employ 232 to 386 days to complete this practice of a million mantras and achieve mantra perfection.

What happens instead during an eclipse? The same result that is achieved with 1 million repetitions can be achieved with only 1,000 repetitions of the mantra. These are equivalent to just under 10 rounds of mālā. With only 10 laps you get the result of reciting thousands and thousands of rounds under normal conditions. In terms of time, considering 3 to 5 minutes per mālā, 10 rounds are covered in a time ranging from 30 to 50 minutes.

So in 30-50 minutes during the eclipse one can achieve the same result as reciting a mantra for two hours every day for a year. This is the power of reciting mantras during an eclipse.

It is not magic in the superficial sense of the word. It is concentration of karmic time. It is as if time becomes compressed. Kāla, time, becomes dense. Rāhu and Ketu tighten the energy field and what we do at that time leaves a much deeper imprint.

I mantras are sacred sounds connected to universal vibrations and, as subtle technologies, help us achieve our goals faster or burn off parts of karma that are inconvenient or blocking us in our growth. There is an ancient science called mantra-śāstra which defines its rules and how to use it. Not all mantras are the same, not all are suitable for everyone, not all produce the same effect. This is why it is essential to getting to know one's Christmas card and understand which sounds are harmonious with one's karmic configuration.

The best mantra to recite in this context is the Mahā-mantra Hare Kṛṣṇa. It is a mantra that liberates, that opens the heart to love for the Absolute and for others, that aligns and harmonizes with the divine plan. It is a mantra that everyone can recite and will always benefit, regardless of spiritual level or preparation. If you follow other spiritual traditions, it is important to focus on the prasiddha mantra, mantras recognized as pure and complete, because there are mantras that are not universal and require specific qualifications or initiations.

Now, those of you who have the Planet of Destiny Report received his personalized guiding mantra. During the eclipse it can be an extraordinary time to receive all the blessings of that mantra. It is as if the planet that governs your destiny finds a cosmic microphone through which your invocation is heard more clearly.

Those of you who have made a personalized counseling with me or other school students probably received various mantras to resolve the most critical points of one's natal chart, unlock favorable combinations and support one's karma by transforming it into success. During the eclipse is the best time to recite those mantras as much as possible, because all the astrological mantric remedies are amplified. In other words, they achieve their purpose with less effort and greater intensity.

Who follows the Academy and study in our school of Vedic astrology learn to discover the most important and favorable mantras for one's Charter. It is not possible to recite all the mantras that exist or all those applicable to us. Time is limited and we must, as Vedic astrologers, select the mantras most relevant to the person. But the moment of the eclipse totally changes the perspective, because we can dedicate that specific event to a specific mantra whose results we want to accelerate. We can thus, year after year, use eclipses as a conscious karmic appointments, devoting space each time to different mantras and practices, receiving more and more blessings.

The eclipse is not just darkness. It is a portal. It is the moment when light is temporarily hidden to remind us that true light does not depend on the Sun or the Moon, but on our consciousness. And if at that moment we choose to utter a sacred sound, that sound will Becomes an arrow through time And directly reaches our destiny.
