December 26, 2019: Annular Eclipse of the Sun
An eclipse that will open the doors to your inner world, making you overcome the darkness of WAR
Bhagavad Gītā Yoga, Parampara Yoga, Tapasvi Yoga are special combinations that push toward introspection and resolution of existential questions. A favorable eclipse for those seeking the essence of life.

The 2 eclipses: one for Christmas and one for the new year
In the sky of December 2019 and January 2020, we will have two eclipses:
-
The December 26, 2019 there will be aAnnular Solar Eclipse.
The time when the Solar Eclipse will be active on the globe is from the 3:30 to 9:05.
It will not be visible in Italy, but the solar eclipse also has an effect in areas where it is not visible, although in a smaller proportion.
Below is video of the areas that will be covered by the eclipse shadow.
-
The night of the January 10, 2020 there will be aPenumbral Lunar Eclipse.
This will be visible across much of the globe.
The time when the Lunar Eclipse will be active on the globe is from 6:07 p.m. (on Jan. 10) to 10:12 p.m. (on Jan. 10).
Below is video of the areas that will be covered by the eclipse shadow.
During these periods you must protect yourself so that your mind does not absorb the eclipse's negative and obscuring energy.
I will explain how...
What influence does an eclipse have?
An eclipse whether visible or not has an effect on the whole world.
Worldwide the eclipse manifests its effect in the previous month and in the six months following at the event.
So we need to observe what happens in the world from the end of November 2019 until June 2020.
Above all, we keep an eye on The areas where solar eclipses Have been visible.
But not only that!
The influence the eclipse has on the world depends on many factors:
- the Ascendant of the eclipse
- the Nakṣatra involved (Mula).
- The aspects and conjunctions that the planets have with the eclipse
- the Vedic month in which the eclipse happens and the path of the Sun Uttarāyana or Dakṣināyana (for us Dakṣināyana)
- the Sign in which the eclipse occurs (Sagittarius/Gemini)
- The directions in which the eclipse is visible
- the duration and magnitude of the eclipse
- The part of the day/night (divided into seven) when the eclipse begins, peaks and ends
combination to get the eclipse
In the Vedic Astrological Chart, the eclipse is indicated by the following combinations:

- the conjunction of the Sun and Moon (i.e., a New Moon) in the axis of the Lunar Nodes (Rāhu or Ketu) forms a Solar Eclipse. As occurs in the July 2 eclipse (Astrological chart at left).
- l'opposition of the Sun and Moon (i.e., a Full Moon) in the axis of the Lunar Nodes (Rāhu and Ketu) forms a Lunar Eclipse. As occurs in the July 16-17 eclipse. (Astrological chart at right).
So our two "Christmas" eclipses consist of an Annular Solar Eclipse and a Penumbral Lunar Eclipse.
classification of eclipses by varahamira
Varāhamihira - Indian mathematician, astronomer and astrologer of the 6th century CE-in his text Bṛhat Saṃhitā describes 10 types of eclipses that are related to the characteristics and movement of the shadow:
- Savya (left to right), partial eclipse
- Apasavya (right to left), partial eclipse
- Grasana (phagocytosed), partial eclipse
- Leha (lick), total eclipse
- Nirodha (imprisoned), total eclipse
- Avamardana (oppressive), total eclipse
- Tamontya (dark at the edges), total eclipse
- Madhyama-tamas (darkness in the center), annular eclipse
- Āghrāta is the penumbral eclipse
- Āroha (ascending) is an eclipse followed by additional coverage (due to meteorological phenomena)
Consider that, for obvious reasons, eclipses can be a mix of these categories.
Each of these is described in chapter five of the Bṛhat Saṃhitā in verses 43 to 52.
rahu wants to swallow the sun
Eclipses move the world, move major events. But at the same time, eclipses have a great influence on us.
During the eclipse, the Sun-representing life, the soul, political leaders, the father, success-is obscured by the dark side of the Moon, the lunar node called Rahu. Rahu is represented by a head, full of desires, with no body. An arch-enemy of the Sun, in Vedic imagery, Rahu tries to swallow solar energy, never being able to digest it.
The absence of light, darkness, brings extreme transition periods as birth (in the womb the light is completely obscured) and death. Every change, every transformation, is a pair of opposites: something dies and something is born.
Only the Atma, the self, remains immune from duality-being eternal and unchanging in nature-just as the Sun cannot be ultimately killed by Rahu, but only momentarily covered. This metaphor hints at the Enormous spiritual possibilities of the eclipse.
But from a material perspective, the effect of the eclipse is hardly positive and needs remedies.

With the eclipse, it is better to stand still
The effect of the eclipse can be felt up to several weeks before the event, and it lasts for at least six months afterward.
Okay, the eclipse has an influence on a global level, but also on a personal level.
Personal influence depends on your natal chart and whether some of your fundamental Planets or Houses are connected to the eclipse.
Then those areas of life can receive important influence.
Have you prepared properly?
One key thing: Don't make any major decisions on the following days:
- 10 days before the solar eclipse i.e. December 16 to December 26, 2019
- 3 days before the lunar eclipse i.e. from the January 7 to January 10, 2020
Because the mind can be completely obscured by Rahu and your choices can lead to unpleasant situations.
You can think, plan (on paper), brainstorm, but don't start anything, at least until the eclipse allows.
The things we do before the eclipse tend to fail. Don't start new projects.
Avoid arguments with those around you, postpone any clarification or breakup with your partner.
Don't take negativity in relationships seriously; wait for the eclipse to pass.
It will pass I assure you!
Rāhu amplifies and magnifies problems by taking them to extremes.
Relationships that break down in the vicinity of the eclipse bring long-term problems.
In any case, you too can ride the eclipse energy, as long as you get on the right ship: mantras, fasting and prayers.

The annular solar eclipse on the 26th: find the root of the problem

The eclipse on December 26, 2019 is an eclipse Solar Annular so Madhyama-tamas (darkness in the center).
We need to differentiate the result into material e spiritual.
Materially speaking, the annular eclipse afflicts people in the central parts of the areas where the eclipse will be visible.
From a global perspective it will create a strong feeling of fear general and this will create stomach problems.
So it is very important to find personal centering so as to manage stress and, on the other hand, cultivate good nutrition.
Spiritually speaking: the Annular Solar Eclipse shows how Rahu (ignorance, delusion) can never swallow the knowledge and virtue manifested by the Sun.
The ring light cannot be obscured even at the strongest point of the eclipse.
This indicates a spiritual rebirth and a new energy of global transformation that, by tolerating material obstacles, will increasingly stimulate people to embark on a path of self-awareness (individually and collectively).
This is confirmed by other important factors that we will see shortly.
The eclipse will occur in the constellation of the Moon called the Mula Nakṣatra.
The symbol of Mula is a Root. To go deep into the mysteries of life we need to discover the roots.
Thus Mula indicates a person who has a burning desire to know the Truth. This desire arises from an ardent sincerity to find the essence of things.
At the same time Mula indicates situations that trap and limit. Mula creates situations that show a sudden change of fortune.
After all, it is precisely the duality of this world (joy/pain, success/success, hot/cold, fame/infamy, rich/poor, ...) that prompt the inquisitive person to ask important existential questions.
Questions that can lead to a spiritual path to liberation, Mokṣa.
Ketu (the Southern Lunar Node) is the indicator of Mokṣa, as well as the regent of Mula Nakṣatra.
This reveals to us the intentions of this eclipse: to take people on a path of auro-realization.
We are not talking about a "religion" here. Religion may not be lived as Mula Nakṣatra would like. Sometimes it can be superficial.
But Mula wants to go into the depths of life and find the roots from which everything comes.
Here we are talking about a deep metaphysical quest.
This spiritual change will be noticeable all over the world.
Although the Annular Eclipse will be visible with different gradations.
The annular eclipse in its totality (100%) will be visible in South India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Indonesia, Oman and parts of Saudi Arabia.
They will see a Partial Eclipse much of the Middle East, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines.
An eclipse with 3 special conjunctions and lots of "yoga"

The eclipse on December 26, 2019 will occur in Sagittarius, in the constellation of Mula.
So pay special attention to those who have:
- Sign, Ascendant or Moon in Gemini/Sagittarius
- Moon or Ascendant in Mula Naksatra
So if you have these combinations in your Christmas Card you need to be especially careful during this period and protect yourself through specific mantras during the eclipse.
The Sun+Moon conjunction occurs right in Sagittarius, a warlike sign that always has its bow in its hand.
The eclipse occurs on the Ketu side, which, as we shall see, accentuates the spiritual purpose of the eclipse.
In the image above, Sagittarius is highlighted in Yellow.
You can see the presence of Ketu, the Sun and the Moon, which are obviously the conditions for which the Eclipse occurs.
So we can say that Sun, Moon and Ketu represent the Eclipse itself.
Along with this triad we have Mercury, Jupiter e Saturn.
Mercury Is the Planet of Communication.
So my first advice is be careful how you express yourself in the family.
In particular, pay attention to how you express yourself because we are right in the holiday season and one too many words can ruin your vacation season.
Jupiter is the most beneficial planet and promises to mitigate all the effects of the eclipse, provided you cultivate your spiritual growth.
Saturn Instead, he wants to put distance and is not afraid of suffering. As you know by now: he is an old-fashioned teacher who is not afraid to use the wand.
These 6 heavenly bodies in Sagittarius create numerous combinations. In Sanskrit these combinations are called "Yoga."
Is it any wonder how such Yogas describe the "extreme" energy of this Eclipse:
- On the one hand, the great spiritual potential
- On the other a great instability on the material plane
Let's look at them together (without considering Sun and Moon that are already "engaged" in the Eclipse):
- Śula Yoga: When all the planets are in only 3 Houses (without considering Rahu and Ketu). Śula means trident and is Śiva's destructive weapon. This trident revolves around Sagittarius, indicating a concentration of energies in this Sign. The other two points are in Capricorn with Venus and in Scorpio with Mars. Śiva's spiritual purpose is to remove the tamas (darkness) that arises from "false-ego."
- Sannyasa Yoga: When two planets are in one Sign it is called a conjunction. When there are 3 it is called discussion. When there are 4 it is chaos. When there are 6 the situation becomes quite unstable and unmanageable. So the person wants to run away (and become sannyasi) because he sees no other solution.
- Brahma Yoga: is the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn. It shows great creative energy and the opportunity to do important things (obviously on another plane of consciousness, given the plane of this Eclipse).
- Tapasvi Yoga: it is the conjunction of Saturn and Ketu that calls attention to Tapasya, or asceticism. What is asceticism? Simply put, it is the doing of activities aimed at elevation and harmonization between our anthropological levels: body-mind-spirit. When there is a Tapasvi Yoga we have two options: to grasp Saturn's message (asceticism) or to undergo Saturn (we will be forced to do austerities).
- Parampara Yoga: is the conjunction of Jupiter and Ketu. It indicates the importance of following a path under the guidance of masters, in a tradition.
- Parampara Yoga: is the conjunction of Jupiter and Ketu. It indicates the importance of following a path under the guidance of masters, in an authentic tradition.
- Bhagavad Gītā Yoga: is the conjunction of Jupiter and Mercury. A very interesting combination and one that is the interpretive key to reading this eclipse holistically.

Bhagavad Gītā yoga: master and disciple on the battlefield
I explained to you that Sagittarius is the Battlefield Of the Christmas Card.
The Sign Sagittarius is represented by a man on a warhorse, holding a bow ready to shoot an arrow.
Thus Sagittarius represents Kurukṣetra, the field where the great epic battle of Mahābhārata took place.
We have seen how there are many forces at play in this Camp. There are armies ready to fight.
Why do they want to fight?
He explains. Mula: They want to get to the root of the problem.
In this Kurukṣetra Field (also called Dharmakṣetra, the land of righteousness) two Planets are talking to each other-Jupiter and Mercury.
Jupiter (in Sanskrit Guru) is. the master while Mercury (Budha) is the disciple.
The conjunction of Jupiter and Mercury is called Bhagavad Gītā Yoga precisely because the two Planets represent Kṛṣṇa (Jupiter) and Arjuna (Mercury).
Kṛṣṇa (Jupiter) recounted the spiritual essence (Mula, Ketu) of the Bhagavad Gītā (Jupiter+Mercury) to Arjuna (Mercury) on the Battlefield of Kurukṣetra (Sagittarius).
Arjuna was in a deepest crisis (Mercury afflicted by Saturn and Ketu) and relied on Kṛṣṇa (Jupiter) for instructions.
Arjuna was so distressed that he wanted to leave the battlefield (Sagittarius) and go live as a hermit in the forest (Tapasvi Yoga and Sannyasi Yoga).
But Kṛṣṇa (Jupiter) through the weapon of knowledge (Śula Yoga) cut through the darkness of ignorance and gave Arjuna (Mercury) a new vision.
Thus Kṛṣṇa (Jupiter) began a new disciplic succession (Parampara Yoga) by teaching a spiritual knowledge that is accessible even to this day: the Bhagavad Gītā .

If you have been able to follow the discourse so far, you will be like me amazed at how this eclipse is inviting the world to read this text.
We are in a time of crisis and confusion worldwide. Now we need to get to the root.
Thus one of the "astrological remedies" for this eclipse is to read the Bhagavad Gītā regularly.
Don't you have a copy of this book?
Get it now. Buy it before the Eclipse so that you will be prepared.
I recommend the version "Bhagavad Gītā as it is." By Swami Bhaktivedanta.

the lunar eclipse on January 10, 2020

On the night of January 10, 2020, there will be a Penumbral Moon Eclipse.
That is, the eclipse will be seen as a shadow that will partially color the Moon.
The time when the lunar eclipse will be active on the globe is from 6:07 p.m. to 10:12 p.m. on Jan. 10.
Although the eclipse will be partial, this does not exempt us from the influences that this 'delicate' moment can project on us, especially on our minds.
Rahu and Ketu, the lunar nodes (i.e., the mathematical points where eclipses occur), have the power to 'eclipse' our mind, make our emotions cloudy and veil our lucidity.
In fact, the Moon, in Vedic Astrology, is the direct representative of psychic functions and emotions.
Therefore, the Eclipse of the Moon is a suitable time to gather and recite mantras, to free the mind from the influence of Rahu that generates confusion, fear and anxiety.
In fact, the Rahu-Moon conjunction creates a variety of psychological disturbances.
Here, in a society as neurotic as the one we live in, we cannot afford not to take serious precautions!

Material or spiritual eclipses?

Another factor to consider is whether the eclipse happens on the Ketu side-that is, the mystical and spiritual side-or on the Rāhu side, the materialistic side.
Eclipses can occur on either side of the Lunar Nodes (ascending or descending).
Rāhu (North Node) indicates the materialistic side of life, caught up in passions and desires. Rāhu makes us "lost" in this world.
Ketu (South Node) indicates the spiritual side, the higher vision and the call to a mission. Ketu gives detachment and a broader perspective.
identifies the 4 energies of eclipses
So there are 4 energies That are created by the eclipse.
These four energies allow one to be able to direct one's prayers in a more focused way because the eclipse amplifies a particular energy.
The four energies are as follows:
-
Solar Eclipse: Energy manifests itself in inner work. To what end?
1) If the New Moon is with Rāhu: The purpose is to improve the world around us.
2) If the New Moon is with Ketu: The goal is spiritual emancipation, connection with God.
-
Lunar Eclipse: energy manifests in the world, causes you to be social, to be in society. What is the purpose of being in the world?
3) If the Full Moon is with Rāhu: The purpose is mundane.
4) La Full Moon is with Ketu: The purpose is spiritual.

praying according to the 4 energies
If you pray in line with the eclipse energies, your wishes will be fulfilled.
But remember that the means by which you "send" your prayers to their destination are Mantras:

-
In the Annular Solar Eclipse Of December 26, 2019, Moon/Sun are with Ketu.
This means that the purpose of the Eclipse is spiritual emancipation, connection with God.
We have seen how Sannyasi, Tapasvi, Brahma, Śula, Parampara and Bhagavad Gītā Yoga are combinations that show a high level of spirituality.
The ether will be full of evolutionary energy (even in the midst of the Battle) and we can tune in through prayer and mantras.
This is a special time to connect to your deeper self (depth guaranteed by Mula) through inner work.

-
On the Lunar Eclipse of January 10, 2020.: The Moon is with Rahu.
This means that the purpose of the Eclipse is mundane.
You can make wishes about your life and they will come true (if you support them with the right mantras).
But be careful what you wish for, it could be realized.
My advice is to pray for the world to become a better world.
You can pray that you too can become a pure and consistent instrument of this change.
You can pray for the good of the world, world peace, for everyone to become more respectful of the environment, animals and other humans.
You can pray that there will be leaders and politicians who bring forth the material and spiritual welfare of the citizens.
As Gandhi said: be the change you want to see in the world.
Protective practices to shield oneself from the influence of rahu in the eclipse
The practices (more or less complicated) to be performed before and during the eclipse are revealed by Matsya to Manu and codified in the Chapter 67 of the Matsya Purāṇa. In this article we will list some of them (simple and practical).
The main points are:
- Purifying shower Immediately before and after the Eclipse,
- Fasting Before, during and after the eclipse (12 hours for the solar eclipse and 6 hours for the Eclipse of the Moon)
- Mantra, meditation and prayers (one hour before, during and one hour after the eclipse)
- Read the sapiential texts (in this case the Bhagavad Gītā is ultra-recommended)
- Donations and charity

Fasting: a diet that pays off
The eclipse has an influence on food, so it would be good to fast during the eclipse.
It is clear that drugs, alcohol and any substance that can amplify the eclipsing effect should be avoided.
Especially avoid grains if you cannot succeed in complete fasting.
In particular, it would be best to fast 12 hours before and after a Solar Eclipse..
Or Six hours before and six hours after the lunar eclipse..
Do you think you can't?
Okay, halve the time 6 hours for Sun and 3 hours for Moon.
Can't you?
At least one hour....
After all, don't you often tell me that you want to start a diet?

Meditation: open the doors of the eclipse
During the eclipse it is necessary to recite mantras to be protected from Rāhu's dark energy.
The Maha Mantra Is the most powerful mantra for our era.
La Kalisaṃtaraṇa-upaniṣad says in this regard:
"At the end of Dvāpara-yuga-after traveling all over the Earth-Nārada went to Brahmā and asked him:
"O Lord how can I cross this ocean called Kali-yuga?"
Brahmā replied:
"From your question all mankind will benefit; listen to the secret hidden in the Śruti, by discovering this one can cross the world of Kali-yuga: by chanting the names of the Divine Person, of Nārāyaṇa, the evil of Kali-yuga can be erased."
Nārada asked again:
"Which of the holy names shall we sing?"
He [Brahmā] replied:
"hare kṛṣṇa hare kṛṣṇa
kṛṣṇa kṛṣṇa hare hare
hare rāma hare rāma
rāma rāma hare hare."
Only in this way, by reciting the sixteen names can we destroy the evil of Kali-yuga; there are no other remedies anywhere in the Veda."
Remember that in this Annular Eclipse of the Sun the recitation and the reading from the Bhagavad Gītā have a very powerful protective and evolutionary influence.
Each verse of the Bhagavad Gītā is a very effective Sanskrit mantra.
(HERE is the original text e HERE you will find a modern study )
Among the additional remedies you can recite the Devata mantra associated with the Nakṣatra (constellation of the Moon) in which the Moon and Sun come together to form the eclipse.
no mantra no party
Especially the Eclipses of the Moon give a special blessing (phala-śruti).
If during the eclipse period we recite at least two cycles of 108 times Of the maha-mantra and at the same time we make a wish, this will be fulfilled very soon.
Depending on our level of consciousness we will either aspire to a material desire or a spiritual demand.
conclusion
So I wish you to go through this sensitive time in a protected way. Harness the energy of the eclipse through mantras, meditation and prayer. May these eclipses bring positive transformations in your life.
Let the bright side prevail over the darkness.
