An incredible discovery--fell from the sky

Today during a walk I was watching the clouds flowing in the sky and realized the connection there is between Indra, the clouds, the human brain and the senses!

In particular, a gray cloud, with its ripples and waves, appeared as if divided into two parts.

It reminded me of the human brain in its form, and this association of ideas, almost by chance, opened up a very interesting topic that I began to think about.

What relationship does the human brain have with clouds?

There is something similar between what is in our brain box and what is floating in the sky.

Think about this for a moment.

This article is the fruit of these thoughts that turned on an important point in Vedic Astrology.

In fact, in this article I will tell you about the Devas, the 5 senses, and the Planet of Destiny!

The concept of Deva: the personifications of cosmic laws

In Yoga philosophy everything is moved by cosmic energies or laws of nature. You can read my articles where I talk about the Law of Karma and Dharma.

Everything is ordered.

These energies are "personified" and take the form of beings who are patrons of specific physical or subtle laws.

The point is simple: movement is a symptom of life. Life is a symptom of consciousness. Where there is consciousness there is a person.

The universe moves through laws. Those laws are the clue to a higher consciousness. Where there is consciousness there is personality.

The personalities underlying the universal laws are called "Deva," from the Sanskrit root √div, whose primary meaning is to shine and illuminate.

Consciousness illuminates the body, which would otherwise be an inert piece of matter.

Thus the universe is illuminated by consciousness that enables its motion, which we perceive as cyclical and perpetual laws.

As can be the beating of the heart, the symptom that our body is alive.

In fact, our body is an image of the universe: we are the "mother" consciousness of the body. At the same time in our body every single cell is alive. Each organ practically has a life of its own and acts outside our conscious control.

33 million employees working in the enterprise of the universe

Similarly, the Devas are the personalities who make the universe alive, as if they were the directors of the organs of a large body.

In this body the "mother" intelligence is called in Sanskrit Viṣṇu (the consciousness that all abides).

Vedic cosmology does not present polytheism. The Deva are not deities.

Vedic literature presents a "polymorphic monotheism."

In other words : absolute reality is one, but within it there is variety. This variety has its own individual nature even though it is part of the Whole.

In simpler words: the universe is like a company where there is a boss, there are managers and employees.

All are part of the same company and at the same time have their own independent individuality. But each has a different degree of responsibility and importance.

In Vedic culture there are 33 Deva (cosmic administrators) expanding into 33 million Of tasks to maintain universal order.

Viṣṇu is the boss, the Deva are the managers, and the 33 million expansions are the employees of the universe company.

And who are we? The customers of course 🙂

The 4 Pillars of Vedic Astrology

The Deva are personifications of the various Laws of Nature, silently acting around us, whether we are aware of them or unaware of them.

Such as the law of gravity: it is always on, it always works, even if you don't know it.

These 33 devas are strictly correlated with the 4 cardinal principles Of Vedic Astrology. I won't tell you about these 4 principles now, because it would make the talk much longer, but I will tell you about one of them: Indra.

Indra: the undisputed king of the Deva

One of the 33 devas is Indra.

He is not one of the many cosmic administrators; he is the king of the Deva, the greatest, the one who has the superior administrative role.

To imagine you Indra you can think of Zeus, the king of Olympus, who commands the other Greek gods, who has the thunderbolt as his weapon and holds the storms and rains. Here Indra is similarly described.

In addition to Zeus, Indra boasts countless eyes distributed for his body with which he looks at the whole world. I won't describe now why Indra has so many eyes and what they were before-that's a bit of a long and complicated story.

I have always wondered. why among all the Deva, who rule the (seemingly) most important elements and laws of the universe, Indra himself was the absolute king.

Why not Agni who holds fire, the fundamental element for Vedic sacrifice? Why not Surya who holds the Sun, the vitality, the rhythm of everything? Why not Varuna? Why Indra of all things?

Seeing that cloud in the sky answered this question of mine. I had actually already studied the answer, but I had never made that connection...which I will now explain.

A brain in the clouds?

The clouds are filled with electrostatic energies That create lightning. Clouds not only create rainfall but also channel powerful electrostatic energy.

Now the human brain is not just a piece of meat floating in a liquid inside the skull.

The brain is the seat of complex brain functions that create and shape our perception of reality.

In particular The brain controls the senses through electrochemical reactions. Between neurons, information is exchanged through electrostatic charges that charge and discharge just like lightning in the sky.

The lightning bolt that controls your 10 senses!

The amazing thing is. senses, in Sanskrit, are called Indriya (of Indra, rectified by Indra).

There are two categories of senses: the senses of action (karma-indriya) which are our output, that is, the way we respond to the outside world; and the senses of perception (jnana-indriya) that are our input, that is, what we receive from outside.

I was amazed at how Vedic symbolism (the Vedas often speak through imagery and through myth) was so close to the modern idea we have of reality: the brain (Indra) sends electrochemical information (like lightning) to the organs of motion (karma-indriya) and receives electrochemical information from the organs of perception (jnana-indriya).

Micro and macro cosmos

Indra is the king of the Deva just as the brain is the king of the body.

Thus in the microcosm of our body Indra is the king who commands perception and action. The body and psyche of each being thus work in harmony, guided by a "central processing system," the brain.

In the macrocosm Indra orchestrates the energies that move the universe so that they work in harmony with each other. That is why he is the king of the Deva, he is the boss, he is the CEO.

The Planet of Destiny is the king of your natal chart because it harmonizes and orchestrates all the other planetary aspects.

Just as the senses cannot process information without the brain, the Planets cannot have an influence on you if the Planet of Destiny disagrees.

So studying your Destiny Planet is an essential step if you want to approach the world of Vedic Astrology.

I have prepared for you a free mini-guide to fully understand the 3 secrets of Vedic Astrology (including the Planet of Destiny).

Amazing isn't it? A single cloud in the sky served us this interesting lesson.
