Tell me your Sign and I will tell you who you are

Have you ever happened to identify with your Zodiac Sign? To think, "I am an Aries and therefore I act like this: like an Aries. I am energetic, impulsive and quick. If you are of a Sign incompatible with mine, then you'd better turn in your heels." Or to think you are unlucky because you always meet Scorpio partners. Or maybe you are unlucky because you are dating a Virgo, the same sign as your ex! Have you ever come to think that the people around you are one of the twelve signs? [here you can find what I think about it: Not only the Zodiac Sign]

Have you ever looked into the eyes of a person you like and then winkingly asked, "What sign are you?". At his answer "Taurus," you ran to the bathroom, with an excuse, and googled whether your Signs are compatible? Will he be the right person for you? [If this is really important to you, won't it be better to make a compatibility of couples more serious]?

What if Vedic Astrology changed your life?

Here, for you, learning about Vedic Astrology can be a real shocker! If in Western Astrology you are "Aries" in 90% of cases you are "Pisces" in Vedic Astrology! Changing Sign can change your life! If you think of yourself as "Sagittarius" and find yourself "Scorpio," you can have an identity crisis!

Sit down comfortably, now I'll explain.

  • The first point to know is that
    • l'Vedic Astrology is a different system that uses the Sidereal Zodiac.. It is the zodiac that considers the motions of the Sun, Moon and Planets. How you can observe them in the sky with the naked eye or, even better, equipped with a good telescope.
    • Western Astrology, on the other hand, uses the Tropical Zodiac. which was introduced by Ptolemy under the assumption that the earth was at the center of the universe. This system divides the celestial vault into four quadrants bounded by the Solstices and from the Equinoxes. In particular, the Equinox (the length of day is equal to the length of night) of Spring determines the beginning of Aries. Consequently, all other Signs (by 30° each) follow until they cover 360° of the Zodiac belt. A "mathematically calculated zodiac" rather than a real one.
  • the second point is that Tropical Zodiac does not represent what is seen in the sky, so the position of the Ascendant, Sun, Moon and Planets is NOT what is physically manifested. This is because the Spring Equinox and the constellation Aries are out of phase (by about one degree every 72 years) by a phenomenon called Precession of the Equinoxes.
  • the third point is that Between the two systems there is currently about 24° difference! Enough to change your life! Have you ever thought about being another Sign? Continue reading and find out.
  • the fourth point is that for Vedic Astrology the Ascendant is the true "Zodiac Sign". That is, the Ascendant (the Sign rising in the East at the precise moment of birth) is more important than the Zodiac Sign in which the Sun is located (what we generally answer when asked, "What Sign are you?"). The Ascendant changes every two hours, while the Sign changes every month. The Ascendant determines what the Houses of the Horoscope will be. It plays a very important role in the chart and depends on the date, exact time and place of birth. While the Sun Sign depends only on the day of birth.

That said, are you curious what your Vedic Ascendant?

Planets in the Ascendant

In 90% of cases you have a Sign different from what you thought you were. How do you feel about it? How do you feel about this Sign? Consider that if you have planets in the Ascendant these will have an important influence on your personality. You can check this in the Birth Chart Chart (D1). Look at where it is Lg (Lagna is the Sanskrit term for Ascendant) and observe if there are conjunct planets.

In theexample below, Lg is in Scorpio (♏) and is together with two planets Venus e Ketu. Here these two planets will influence the person in an important way. Venus can, for example, give an interest in what is beautiful and artistic, and so on.

Calculate your Vedic Ascendant

In fact, the planets that make "aspect" on the Ascendant also have something to say about you and your constitution. As well as the regent of the Ascendant, the position of the Moon, the Nakṣatra, the Planet of Destiny and so on.

The various nuances of a person's personality and destiny are studied, in Vedic Astrology, from many perspectives and with a variety of more or less complex techniques. The study of the Ascendant, while important, is only one of them. A complete study involves the harmonious interpretation of all the factors involved.
