My name is Pierpaolo Marras, also known as Prema Kumāra dāsa, a name received from my teacher in the Bhakti Vedānta tradition. But you can simply call me Prema.

My life intertwines two worlds: the rigor of the science and engineering and the timeless depth of the Vedic philosophy.

From this meeting was born Yoga delle Stelle, a project that combines the Yoga and theVedic Astrology (Jyotiṣa) as tools for awareness, transformation and inner growth.

My story begins as a child, when I used to take apart my toy robots to figure out how they worked, while my mother put me to sleep with tales of Christian saints. Even then I was experiencing deep and guided dreams, which I still remember with clarity.

In elementary school I started the Judo, which introduced me to Japanese philosophy-a passion I cultivated until I was 18.
In middle school I became a tireless reader of Japanese novels and comics, driven by a desire to understand the world and human emotions. I sought answers in philosophy and psychology.

That's why I chose the Classical High School, but what I found there was more history of ideas than essential answers. So I changed direction: perhaps science could offer me concrete truths. I chose theEngineering, moving from philosophical abstraction to technical pragmatics.

All'University of Bologna I experienced intense years: numbers, circuits, algorithms, new friendships and challenges as an out-of-state student.
Yet a bigger question was growing inside me: What is the deep meaning of life?

At the age of 23, I took up Judo and prayer again. I approached the Reiki, at Japanese, Zen and Tibetan Buddhism, seeking new ways.
Until, one Christmas in Sardinia, I found in my father's bookcase two volumes of the Caitanya Caritāmṛta, left years earlier by mysterious "men dressed in white."

Reading those pages was like an inner call: the life and teachings of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu have opened to me the doors of the Bhakti Vedānta.

Shortly thereafter, during the Master's Degree in Engineering, I met Bhakti Yoga. It was a bright turning point because it gave me the joy of being able to meet my spiritual master, Radhanath Swami, who travels all over the world and has been guiding me on the path ever since.

From there my research exploded: Indo-Vedic philosophy, meditation, Yoga... until I came to theVedic Astrology (Jyotiṣa).

For more than ten years I worked as a telecommunications engineer in research and development, while in parallel I studied astrology, offered counseling and taught: philosophy of yoga in the Teacher Training, meditation classes and personal growth paths.

After an initial training self-taught and various international studies, I became an official member of the CVA - Council of Vedic Astrology, the international association that certifies Jyotiṣa.

The real turning point, however, was the meeting with the traditional school of Pandit Sanjay Rath, heir to the Orissa tradition, who is descended from a direct pupil of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu.

In this authentic line I received the title of Jyotiṣa Paṇḍita (scholar in Vedic Astrology) after nearly a decade of studying the Bṛhat Parāśara Horā Śāstra.

Today I continue to train, and I am currently studying the secrets of the Jaimini Sūtra and the Mantra Śāstra, constantly deepening this infinite science.

Over the years I have realized that my mission is also disseminate this knowledge.

For a long time, those who wanted to become Vedic astrologers had to train only abroad and in English. With Yoga delle Stelle, I made it possible to study the Jyotiṣa in Italian, contributing to the birth of a new generation of Vedic astrologers.
