Dividing life into three parts, we have: childhood and youth, middle phase of life, last part.
As a general rule (which should be aligned with other aspects of the paper), the position of the 12th house regent reveals which part of life will be most difficult for us.
- Step 1: Look at your ascendant Vedic.
- Step 2: Take the previous sign, which is the sign of the 12th house.
- Step 3: Take the regent of that sign (12L). Let's review them together: Mars if Aries or Scorpio; Venus if Taurus and Libra; Mercury if Gemini and Virgo; Moon for Cancer and Sun for Leo; Jupiter for Sagittarius and Pisces; Saturn for Capricorn and Aquarius. Remember that Scorpio and Aquarius have dual regencies, Ketu and Rahu respectively.
- Step 4: Look at what house, starting from the Ascendant, the planet you found in step 3 is in. That is, look at the house in which the regent of the 12th house is located (12L)
If the planet is in a house Kendra (1, 4, 7, 10 house) childhood may be difficult. If the planet is in Panapara (2, 5, 8, 11 house) the middle part of life will be harder. If the planet is in Apoklima (3, 6, 9, 12 house) it will be the latter part of life that will be problematic.
It is a simple rule, but it reveals important karmic clues about our lives.
